Yesterday my mum and I went to Otahuhu to buy things for my aunt as she was leaving to Tonga because my nana died last week. I wanted to go but I had to stay for school.
So…. While we were walking I saw people walking past a poor man that was asking them for money. I was across the road but I had a great view of him.
He reminded me of life in Tonga. He reminded me of starving children in the street.

I put my hand into my pocket and felt a note. I saw it was 10 dollars. I gave it to him and he said thank you in Tongan because he heard my aunt speak in Tongan. My aunt said it was alright in Tongan.
I knew it was the right thing to do.
